South Africa Sunbooks

The alarmingly high unemployment rate in South Africa in 2020 (35.2%) is a statistic that Sun Books aims to help reduce, working to educate children and provide them with opportunities for a brighter future.

In South Africa, we have developed a partnership with Mia Le Roux and Salomé Geertsema, Senior Lecturers from the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Pretoria, involved in  the research entitled, “Enhancing literacy skills: an e-approach in a rural school in Gauteng.” This experimental research aims to determine the literacy skills of beginners and of intermediate phase learners in Grade 4, recorded pre and post-electronic literacy intervention.

We are also working on the implementation of a Sun Books project at Hammanskraal-West Primary School, a public school in Kanana Village, home to  1 394 children and 32 teachers.
